Mutual Recognition The CIPM MRA (International Committee for Weights and Measures Mutual Recognition Arrangement) is a global agreement established by the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM). Its purpose is to ensure that measurement standards and calibration certificates from different countries are recognized and trusted worldwide. This agreement creates a network of accurate measurements, allowing measurements made in one country to be accepted as valid in other participating countries. It boosts confidence in measurement accuracy and reliability across borders. Participating institutes undergo strict evaluations to meet high metrological standards and maintain traceability to the International System of Units (SI). Once accepted into the CIPM MRA, these institutions are recognized as competent and reliable providers of measurement standards and calibration services.
